I’ve neglected this blog for the past few weeks – sorry about that. I wasn’t sure which direction it was going in (apart from relentlessly back and forth, to and from work).
I might try and blame the very disappointing recent ‘Spring’ weather we’ve been having, as, although I’ve been continuing my daily commute by bicycle, I’ve rarely been inspired to get out on two wheels for leisure.
Nonetheless, my bike has been behaving much better recently, following a series of rather dispiriting punctures. The main solution was an obvious one: new tyres. My six-month-old original ones were hardly bald, but they were beginning to show signs of wear and tear, and I wanted to see if a new set would be an easy fix. So far, it turns out, it has been.
They’re inexpensive tyres at £12 or so a pop. But they’re shiny and new, and apparently they have Kevlar lining. I’m sure I could get even stronger, even more expensive tyres at a later date, but for now I hope that this mysterious lining should be enough to stop the detritus found on MK’s Redways causing serious damage.
Regular updates will return presently.
